Recalculating Pricing

The pricing within the sales order or invoice can be recalculated using the Recalculate All Pricing option. Launching this process will overwrite the existing pricing for any detail lines that contain an Inventory item.   This feature is useful if a price level is changed or the pricing within the sales order needs to be updated because of product price changes.   This feature is also useful if you wish to set the pricing option for all existing sales order detail lines.

The default pricing option can be set by clicking on the price bar options located at the top of the sales order.  The pricing tool bar is displayed or hidden by selecting View > Price Tool Bar from the invoice menu.

The invoice will default to the normal price method but can be changed by selecting one of the other options.  The follow 3 options are available:

A. Normal Price Method image\ebx_-975822737.gif

The price is set based on the price level setting on the invoice. The Normal Price Method derives the default price from the Price Level setting on the proposal heading unless any special pricing settings apply. Special pricing is determined from the optional special pricing feature within the customer account or inventory item.  Review the Inventory > Pricing > Special Pricing section for more details on the optional special pricing feature.

B. Exclusively from Price Level image\ebx_-1563153637.gif

The Price Level model determines the price using the same method as the Normal Price Method, except that all special pricing is ignored. Go to Inventory > Options > Price Levels tab to add, rename, or delete price levels. Go to Inventory > Inventory Items – Pricing tab to set prices for each inventory item.

C. Percent Markup or Percent Margin image\ebx_-154762872.gif

The price can be determined based on a percentage markup or margin. The Markup or Margin option is set by selecting Inventory > Options from the main menu. This option allows the user to calculate the price based on the cost of the product instead of a predefined price.

Select Process > Recalculate All Prices option to recalculate the pricing for all lines within the sales order that contain inventory items.  Note that the pricing option set on the price tool bar will be used to calculate all the detail lines.

The following dialog will appear if the sales order contains any materials list with an inventory item located on the header line.   The system offers 2 different ways to calculate a materials list:

  1. Derive the pricing of the header line (See the Deluxe Tool Set header line in example shown above) from the TOOSET inventory item

  2. Calculate the pricing of the header line by recalculating the price of each materials list item such as the heavy duty box, Phillips screwdriver, 3` level, etc.  The header line then becomes the total of each detail line.

Select the Yes button to calculate using option #1 or No to calculate using option #2.

The dialog shown above will appear only if the sales order contains materials list with an inventory item on the header line.

Changing the Price Level

The Following dialog will appear when the Price Level located on the header of the sales order is changed by the user.

The Change G/L code on invoice lines option should be enabled to change the general ledger code on the invoice lines.   Note that often the price level will alter the revenue G/L code.  Review the Inventory > Pricing > Default Pricing and Price levels section within the inventory documentation for more details on the relationship of revenue G/L codes and price levels.

Enable the Recalculate pricing to launch the recalculate pricing process within EBMS.
